Features in iOS 8 would be latest, more advanced and more enthralling than iOS 7.

9to5mac, a credible source for iOS related news attempted to collect information on the new apps and came up with the statement:
The apps are built to serve as tools to view Preview and TextEdit files stored in iCloud by OS X. Apple added iCloud synchronization for Preview and TextEdit with OS X Mountain Lion, but has not yet released iOS counterparts to actually view the synchronized content.

The new iOS 8 may come with new API. This could encourage third party developers to build new Apps. The Touch ID also needs some improvement. If third party developers get access to the Touch ID application programming interface, they could develop new apps and that could amount to better user interface. For online shopping for example, users won’t have to insert username and password every time.

Apple introduced iBeacon in iOS 7. The iBecon works on Bluetooth Smart technology, found in Bluetooth 4.0 devices. The Cupertino giant may also rebrand the iTunes Radio as a separate app at the WWDC. If the iTunes Radio is featured as a standalone music service, better promotion of music within iOS ecosystem will be guaranteed.

The Map feature may undergo an incisive overhaul. Apple may update its existing mapping database with inputs from HopStop, Embark and BroadMap. All these companies had been acquired by Apple in recent time. The Apple Map would make it easy for users to pinpoint key locations such as transit links, roads, bus stops, pick up points and metro stations.

9to5mac enquired into this and based on the inquiry published, “When a user chooses to receive transit directions in the iOS 8 Maps app, a translucent panel slides up from the bottom of the Maps app with a list of different routes, according to the sources briefed on the application…” The revamped Map feature could ease users in many ways.
