New Note8 is a new device entry in most popular series Galaxy Note series, already Galaxy Note, Note 2 and Galaxy Note 10.1. Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is a new tablet unveiled at Mobile World Conference (MWC 2013) in Barcelona.

However, as we have already mentioned, it might be a disappointment for all Galaxy smartphone fans waiting for Samsung GS4 Launch at MWC 2013, that they have to wait for April 2013 for Samsung Galaxy S4 and for Galaxy Note 3 Release till October 2013.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 tablet, however have some descent features, in comparison to Apple iPad Mini,

including a 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 1280x800 resolution WXGA display, 5MP camera on the back and a 1.3-megapixel camera on the front supported by 4,600mAh battery. Galaxy Note8 tablet is rumored to come in two versions, one with both 3G and WiFi and other with WiFi only.


Samsung Galaxy Note8 also features an improved S-Pen Software. Its the same stylus or digital pen that it began shipping with its other Galaxy Note 10.1 and Galaxy Note 2 products. The pen, Samsung says, provides a natural mode of interaction for users who prefer to write, and has been successful for the company so far.

Samsung also wants the Galaxy Note 8.0 to be your notebook and at the same time your remote control. The tablet has an IR blaster and the new Samsung Smart Remote app, which allows the tablet to function as a universal remote control. A graphical, TV Guide-like interface allows you tap on images to change the channel. It also includes a new smart search, which lets you search for shows or movies across lots of different services.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has been officially confirmed after an anonymous person, who is probably a part of the Samsung crew in Barcelona MWC 2013, leaked a picture of the Samsung stand, which clearly shows the Galaxy Note 8.0 featured on the big screen, in the backdrop. The latest leak comes just a week after the Note 8.0 was accidentally revealed at a Samsung event in South Korea.

Despite of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 announcement, we do not expect that Samsung will be able to actually bring the Note8 tablet to consumer hands any soon, as the new Note8 will probably take one or two month to reach to stores. Which means uses will have to wait till early April 2013 for and actual Samsung Galaxy Note8 Release in the market.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 carry is aimed to be competing with the Apple iPad mini like Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD budget tablets. Currently, Apple iPad mini starts at $329/ £269/ $369 AU/ 17800.Rs IND/ 32400.Rs PKR, so in Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 will probably look to undercut its rival tablet, in an attempt to pull customers away from Apple.

Previously Samsung has mentioned that it has plans to launch new tablet 7, 8 and 10.1 inches tablets this year. Current Galaxy Note 10.1 sells for $499 and its Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 for $199. New Samsung 7 inches tablet is expected to be priced around $149-$199 USD. To fill the price gap left between full size tablets and 7 inches medium size tablets, including Apple iPad Mini which costs around $329 USD, Galaxy Note 8 is expected to follow this price plan:
  • Galaxy Note 8 Price in US will range between $249 to $299 USD
  • Galaxy Note 8 Price in UK is expected around £165 GBP
  • Galaxy Note 8 Price in India will be around 13500.Rs IND
  • Galaxy Note 8 Price in Pakistan will be around 24500.Rs PKR
In the tablet market, last year Samsung is estimated to have sold 15 million units. As for this year, South Korean vendors mentioned would increase the sales target to 40 million units. With a sales target that much, no wonder that Samsung will hold a lot more tablets with different segments in the market this year.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 tablet is slightly wider to be easier to operate in one hand when compared to the 7-inches tablets on the market, including Samsung Galaxy Tab 7. Samsung says it was designed to be like a personal notebook or diary and that it is the perfect size for you to take anywhere. Shoneel Kolhatkar, Director Product Planning at Samsung's, said:
We have seen through consumer research people like the one-handed experience. The Note 10.1 is more of a lean back experience and this is really about the lean forward, you are actively engaged with your notepad and the content you are editing.
