Please try again later." or "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. Make sure your network connection is active and try again." Following are some easy steps that you can follow in order to resolve the issue.

Retry to Access the iTunes Store

After receiving an error message while trying to connect to the iTunes Store, the first thing, you should do is simple, yes just try again. These issues are usually intermittent, and resolve automatically few seconds later. If you are using iOS or Mac OS X, simply try to purchase or download the item again.

Check your internet connection

As mentioned above that most probable reason behind such an error can be your slow or dead internet connection. You can check if your internet connection is really working at the moment simply by connecting to a web page on your iOS device

Check your device

If your internet connection is doing fine then It’s important to check following settings in your device while troubleshooting process so make sure that:

  • Date, time, and time zone of device are correct. Tap Settings > General > Date & Time. Time Zone might list another city in your time zone.

Apple’s Servers may down

Yes, it happens also. Although Apple’s data center is very reliable, but like any data center, it’s not perfect. Servers go down due to a variety of issues such as the telecommunications company connecting Apple’s data center to the Internet is having problems, or high volume can also overwhelm servers, making it difficult to connect to the iTunes Store.

  • Make sure that you can access the Internet on your device.
  • See if your device meets the iTunes minimum system requirements.
  • Check that your operating system is up to date.
  • Make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes.
  • You might need to set up Windows Firewall to let iTunes access the iTunes Store.
  • Make sure that your date and time are correct. Go to Settings > General > Date and Time.
  • You should avoid proxies because they can cause issues. Disable any proxies built-in to Windows. Restart and try to connect to the iTunes Store.
