Check iPhone Upgrade eligibility on AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobiles

If you are using iPhone, you may want to know about the upgrade eligibility of your phone. Unlike earlier upgrades, many users have a plan like AT&T Next, T-Mobile Jump or Verizon Device Payments.

The reason behind the popularity of these carriers is the flexibility to upgrade which they offer. These new plans come pretty much confusion about how the upgrade process works.

Recently announced iPhone Upgrade Program by Apple offers an opportunity to its users, through which users can upgrade their smartphone each year by paying a monthly installment.

Apple's plan is pretty much similar with the deals offered by the four major wireless operators. They're offering plans that require customers to pay full price for a phone in exchange for lower service fees.

Even though most of popular carriers such as T–mobiles now offer no contract options for service, but still you have to sign a contract to pay for the device. Here you can find the relevant information about it

A brief review of how you can check iPhone Upgrade eligibility on AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobiles is given below:


Check iPhone Upgrade eligibility on AT&T

AT&T give its users two options in this regard:
  • AT&T subscribers can either make a phone call or check their eligibility online.
  • By doing it online, you have to log in to my AT&T using your PC or tablet. From the Overview page, go to the “I want to” drop-down list and select “Manage my plan & services.” Then select Check upgrade eligibility.
  • By making it on phone call, you have to dial *639# (*NEW#) from your phone, and you’ll get an SMS from AT&T with details about your upgrade eligibility.
  • Now if your iPhone is eligible for an upgrade on AT&T, then you will have two option to choose from, either you will get an additional two-year extension. In case, you don’t want to go for this option, then you can also choose AT&T’s new Next plan that allows you to get a new iPhone every 12 months by paying for the iPhone in monthly installments.

Check iPhone Upgrade eligibility on Verizon

If you are a Verizon subscriber, it’s quite easy to check iPhone upgrade eligibility.

  • Verizon subscribers can also find their upgrade eligibility by going online or via a phone call.
  • You have to login to your Verizon Wireless account if you are doing the process online. You will see “in My Verizon” on the Upgrade Your Device page and under this head your upgrade eligibility date is listed. You can see a list of the mobile numbers there, and below each mobile number, the upgrade eligibility date will be listed.
  • If you are doing it through phone, you have to dial #874 and you will get a text with your upgrade eligibility status.
  • You will be asked to choose one of the two options i.e. get an additional two-year extension or pay for your own device. The second option offers you two more options, you can make upfront payment or payment in 24 monthly installments. This facility is available if your iPhone is eligible for an upgrade on Verizon.

Check iPhone Upgrade eligibility on Sprint

Unlike AT&T and Verizon, Sprint offers its subscribers three ways to check their upgrade eligibility status. So we can say that Sprint is one step further. These include customer service, text message and online.

  • Subscribers have an option to just text “upgrade” to 1311 and they will get information about your eligibility through SMS.
  • In case, subscriber choose online method to check eligibility then he have to go directly to the Upgrade Eligibility Site. You will log into My Sprint and visit the My Account tab. Locate the “Upgrade phone” link in the “I want to” section next to the phone you are looking to upgrade.
  • To check your iPhone eligibility through phone is the easiest way. You will call into customer care by pressing *2 on your handset and then press 1. Enter your phone number and press 1in order to check upgrade eligibility.
  • Now if your iPhone is eligible for an upgrade on Sprint, then you will get two choices, either you can get an additional two-year extension or opt for Sprint’s new iPhone forever plan. Forever plan allows you to get a new iPhone by paying for it in monthly installments.

Check iPhone Upgrade eligibility on T-Mobile

Unfortunately, upgrade eligibility is not relevant to T-Mobile. Because T-mobile doesn’t offer subsidized discounts for phones anymore. T-Mobile subscribers are disappointed but T-mobile is there with such an exciting program known as With JUMP! On Demand.

It is a new upgrade program only from T-Mobile, through which you can switch to the latest phones with no waiting period or upgrade fees. Simply trade in your phone for a new one whenever you want up to three times a year.
