Review FIFA 14 vs PES 2014 Comparison

FIFA 14 by EA and Konami Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 show two different philosophies of the game development teams and subsequently to different video gaming tastes. To some PES 2014 graphics are better than FIFA 14 and for rest FIFA 14 gameplay is much better and more addictive than PES2014. There are people who expect that Electronic Art (EA), the developer of FIFA 14 should have paid more attention to the graphics in order to give football video game players an even better experience with more realistic graphics.

PES 2014 vs FIFA 14 Game Menu Options

PES 2014 menu presentation is simple but noble. FIFA 2014 game menu is like its predecessor, but all with a slight new fresh look and feel. Overall FIFA2014 has a slight advantage in this area.

FIFA 14 vs PES 2014 Sounds and Music

FIFA 2014 is great in sound and music department with song selection features and a first class atmosphere sounds including fan chants. EA has always been strong in the sound effects. PES 2014 despite of its all pumping commentary, electric sound effects and artificial crowd of spectators in the stadium is not so great comparatively.

FIFA 14 and PES 2014 Training

FIFA14 as usual have some trainings selection, while preparing for the match in the background. But despite of the new and fresh design, to some players, it looks very artificial. PES 2014 gives the basic techniques to be trained with ability to get detailed gameplay training. Compared to FIFA 14, PES 2014 training exercises are more fun and illustrate the simulation close to the actual gameplay.

FIFA 14 and PES 2014 Faces

An impotant thing to compare between the FIFA 14 and PES 2014 games is the presentation, and FIFA 14 shines PES 2014 out in this area. Graphics wise, FIFA 14 looks incredible. While Konami created the Players faces very close to of famous footballers in PES 2014, its still does not compares well to the real face technology that EA Sports uses with FIFA 14.

FIFA 14 and PES 2014 Gameplay

When comparing soccer games, the most important element to me is the pace of the game. Very few soccer games over the years have been able to recreate a realistic feel of the game. In the 2014 edition of these soccer games, PES 2014 has the advantage over FIFA 14.

FIFA 14 feels faster as a game and more interested in the spectacle of football, with a lot of focus on the individual skill of each player and plenty of impressive dribbling and solid shots on goal. EA Sports is adding more physics for the ball and the player, and the matches seem to be decided mostly by the battle between the mid fields and the defensive, with a killer pass often leading to goals.

Konami PES 2014 is a slower experience, with more space for individual touches and a smaller amount of overall chances for the teams involved. Players have to string passes together and create spaces for their forwards runs, and I have seen quite a few matches that featured just a few shots on goal.

FIFA 14 vs PES 2014 League Licenses

One of the most important features is licensing and this is where FIFA 14 has a huge advantage over PES 2014. While PES has the Champions League license, but FIFA 14 has the exclusive rights to all of the major soccer leagues around the world, something PES 2014 beat.

Verdict
By the end, for many players, it may be the matter of taste. But we feel more towards FIFA 14. Although the actual pace of the game feels better in PES 2014 with the game using the new Konami FOX Engine, but it is behind FIFA 14 in almost every other area.
